My main focus is Viscos at Bell Energy: software for engineers carrying out process hazard and risk assessments. I recently built a visual canvas for safety function designs, connecting equipment layouts to calculation results and their supporting evidence.

The canvas lets engineers keep alternative layouts and select which ones to calculate. It also makes result status explicit: an earlier result remains visible after an edit, but is marked as previous or outdated. I’m continuing work on study setup and reusable templates alongside that.

At Bell Immersive, my work includes ALERTSim’s web interfaces for emergency response training. Scenario setup and live participation pose different problems, but both depend on helping people understand what is happening and what they can do next.

Outside work, I released a macOS alpha of Folio, a desktop app for turning Markdown into styled, paginated documents. It keeps files local and uses the native print dialog for printing and PDF output.

Trove has moved beyond its browser-only prototype: I implemented sign-in, private image storage, and server-side search for its personal library. I’m also developing Afterlines, an iOS memory app. Both remain in development.

Across these projects, I keep coming back to the same work: understanding a task, finding the right structure for it, and refining the interactions until the software is easier to use.
